Women+ on the Edge of Democracy

Join Town Hall Theater and Middlebury College to kick off election season and take part in nationwide civic action. Students from Michole Biancosino’s Contemporary Women and Non-Binary Playwrights class at Middlebury College will perform world premiere readings by some of the country’s leading women+ playwrights, including Sarah Ruhl, Lauren Gunderson, Sarah Mantell, Bridget Carpenter, and Kimber Lee.

Through humor, heartbreak, hope, and imagination, these writers consider America’s contradictions and possibilities. They ask what history, global perspectives, and visions of the future can teach us about this pivotal moment. Come experience powerful new writing that invites reflection, sparks conversation, and makes space for different perspectives.
