The Carriage House

The Carriage House was designed by notable Middlebury architect Clinton Smith in 1885. Smith also designed the Morgan Horse Farm, the Battell Block, and the Methodist Church. Of our three buildings, the Carriage House offers the largest rooms and are all named after famous Morgan horses. Each room includes a king-size bed, a wood-burning or gas fireplace, an individual coffee maker and mini-fridge, and a two-person jetted tub. The rooms also feature a memory-foam sleeper-sofa, allowing the rooms to accommodate up to four people.

The Carriage House also has a steam shower and sauna on the lower level. The Mansfield Room features a private patio with a brick walkway which meanders through the perennial gardens and offers views of the rolling lawn.

For those looking to bring their furry friends, the Carriage House rooms all allow dogs. There is $50.00 per night fee for up to two dogs.
