You may know Laura Fenn for her bubbly behind-the-bar personality or her delicious specialty cocktails. But did you know that she’s also a talented multimedia artist? From the end of April through the end of June, her art is being exhibited at Little Seed Coffee Roasters right in downtown Middlebury. Her pieces are available for purchase (aside from those that have sold already!), and you can sip some delicious coffee while admiring her work.
Our friends at Little Seed, Maggie and Anthony, have shown pieces by local artists since opening in September. Laura’s installation is their fourth. Their collaboration combines the talents of our beloved mixologist with a wonderful local business.

Part of Laura’s skill as a mixologist comes from her creative blending of flavors to invent unique cocktails. Her artistry and creativity imbues her entire spirt and vibe as a human being. She sees art in everyday objects, effortlessly transforming the ordinary into spectacular art. It’s not uncommon for her to find some old beads at thrift store and soon after come into work with beautiful new jewelry for herself or a coworker! As a multimedia artist, she doesn’t really have one specialty. However, in all her disciplines you can see her knack for intuitively mixing beautiful colors. This comes through in her jewelry, her hand-painted rocks, and her canvas paintings.
We are so proud of Laura for creating such beautiful art and sharing it with the community. Recently, we included her handmade bracelets in our Swift House Inn care packages. We hope to continue finding ways to share her work with others! If you’re local to the Middlebury area or will be visiting in May or June, be sure to pay a visit to Little Seed. If you’re interested in purchasing one of her pieces or discussing commission, you can give her a call at (802) 989-1765.
“This display is based on the eye. Art is all in the eye of the beholder. To each their own really. I paint my feelings and they tend to be filled with color and exploration into the mind. I love to paint, and I hope folks enjoy what I have done, because I enjoyed doing it. Do art, there is no wrong way!”
