Join us for another round of performances brought to you by Middlebury Acting Company and Town Hall Theater! September 23 through 26, we will host Outside Mullingar under our outdoor tent. The Tony-nominated play was written by John Patrick Shanley (writer of the film Moonstruck) and ran on Broadway in 2014. It is directed by Melissa Lourie and stars Alex Hudson, Eric Reid St. John, Gary Smith, and Mary Adams-Smith.

The story follows Anthony and Rosemary, two introverted misfits who have been neighbors in rural Ireland for years, as they move from being friends to lovers. Rosemary has been interested in Anthony for ages, but his painful shyness has so far prevented their relationship from becoming a romance. Get your tickets now to enjoy this funny and moving love story, uniquely set in Irish farmland.

There will be four performances of Outside Mullingar under the tent at Swift House Inn. On September 23, 24, and 25, the show will start at 7:30 p.m. On September 26, there will be a matinee performance at 2:00 p.m.

Last month, we hosted Constellations, also directed by Melissa Lourie, and we are excited to welcome her back for another play. So far, our tent has hosted Constellations, The Sunset Series: Summer of Scorcese, and an opening night afterparty and films for MNFF7. We love how our outdoor space provides open air as the Middlebury community continues to navigate the pandemic while still allowing folks to come together for art and mingling!

Tickets for Outside Mullingar may be purchased online at townhalltheater.org or by calling Town Hall Theater at 802-382-9222. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students.
