Come party at Swift House Inn! On Wednesday, August 25 at 9:15 p.m., we will host an afterparty to celebrate opening night of the 7th Annual Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival. The festival will take place August 25 to 29, with screenings happening all day long in multiple locations throughout Middlebury. After an online-only festival last year, we are excited to collaborate with MNFF to welcome folks back to in-person film festivals.
The afterparty is for opening night ticket-holders only and will take place under our outdoor tent at Swift House Inn. While MNFF is requiring proof of vaccination for attendance, the outdoor setting provides plenty of ventilation for additional comfort as we continue to navigate the COVID pandemic together. The tent was initially put up in June for Swift House owners’ Matthew Robinson and Serena Kim’s wedding. It has since been used as a space for Middlebury to come together to enjoy film and theater. MNFF held The Sunset Series / Summer of Scorsese under the tent, and we also hosted Middlebury Acting Company’s theatrical performance of Constellations here. These events included the option to purchase a picnic dinner from Jessica’s at Swift House Inn or come early and grab a drink from the outdoor bar. Following the afterparty, the tent will host some of the festival’s film screenings on August 26, 27, and 28. We are excited to use our outdoor space to support new filmmakers and get to know members of the Middlebury community!
Jessica’s at Swift House Inn will provide delicious food and a bar for the afterparty. Middlebury guitarist Dayve Huckett will perform live music for the event. With good food, good music, and fellow film-lovers, it’s sure to be a fun time. We hope to see all opening night ticket-holders there!
