August 12 through 15, Middlebury Acting Company will be coming to Swift House Inn to perform Constellations, written by Nick Payne and directed by Melissa Lourie. The two-person play starring Grace Experience and Stephen Shore tells the story of a relationship through space and time while raising philosophical questions about choice and destiny. Experience grew up in Addison County and now lives in New York City. She is returning to Vermont with Shore, her real-life and on-stage partner, to perform this emotional two-person show for the Middlebury community.
We are excited to continue using our outdoor tent to bring the Middlebury community together to enjoy art! We just finished hosting Summer of Scorsese, a film series presented by Middlebury New Filmmaker’s Festival, and can’t wait to continue providing a venue for local artistic endeavors. This will be Middlebury Acting Company’s first live performance of 2021, and we are thrilled to be joining forces with them as we cautiously re-enter the world of live entertainment. Masks are recommended for all and required for those who are not vaccinated. Fortunately, our tent provides plenty of ventilation for a safer and more comfortable experience.
Picnics from Swift House are available for purchase and must be ordered by 5:00 p.m. the day before the performance. There will also be a bar at the tent where attendees can purchase a variety of beverages before the play begins. We suggest coming early to relax and have a beverage on our beautiful grounds before settling in for the show!
