We feel blessed to live in a place where as the days of summer shorten and the temperatures start to dip, the green palette turns into an array of gorgeous oranges, reds, and golden browns. Did you know that the brilliance and amount of color in autumn leaves depends on the weather? Having a few warm, sunny days followed by cool, crisp nights helps to bring about the most beautiful color displays! The autumn landscape around our bed and breakfast becomes breathtaking—a truly gorgeous time of year to visit Vermont. The fun fall festivals are another great reason to plan a visit and a local favorite; the Bristol Harvest Festival is one of them!
The Bristol Harvest Festival will be taking place on Saturday, September 24th this year and will be open from 10am to 4pm. It is a completely free event for all ages and the action will all be happening at the Town Green in Bristol, VT, which is less than 20 minutes away from our inn in Middlebury. The Town of Bristol and the Addison County Chamber of Commerce hosts this popular local event—this year marks the festival’s 18th anniversary. Families can enjoy over 70 craft and vendor booths, children’s area with pony rides, a petting zoo, bandstand music, apple pie contest, art show, food, and lots of fun entertainment.
