When a summer event is named a “Top 10 Summer Event for 2015” by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, you know it is going to be good! Whether you call Middlebury, VT home, live nearby, or will just be passing through this summer, we want to encourage you not to miss out on visiting the Festival on the Green.
Held rain or shine from July 5-11, 2015, the Middlebury Festival on the Green is a premier summer event for the area. This year marks the 37th anniversary and every year brings in more people, better talent and activities, and bigger crowds. The venue is the picturesque Recreation Park, which is just south of the village. It is a family-friendly week that is completely free! That doesn’t happen too often this day and age so take advantage of all the fun to be had—everyone in your family will find something to enjoy.
It all kicks off on Sunday night at 7pm with live music by Caroline Rose. Monday through Friday will offer “Brown Bag” programs from noon until 1 pm and then evening performances are every night from 7-10pm. Some of the highlights include Ten Strings And A Goat Skin, Caitlin Canty, The Miles Donahue Quintet, The Bluegrass Gospel Project, Vance Gilbert, and The 24th Street Wailers. You will definitely want to at least catch the lawn dance on July 11th as the festival closes out with a “Big Band” dance with the Vermont Jazz Ensemble, starting at 7pm. You can find the complete schedule and more information on the event website.
What else could be added to make this week even better? A stay with us of course! We are just a few minutes from the festival venue,
making our inn the perfect resting stop during your time here. Outside of the festival activities, owners Dan and Michelle can offer some other great outdoor activities, shopping areas, and restaurants to try to make your stay a memorable one. Call us today or book directly online.
