Robert Frost Interpretive Trail: Peaceful Stop in VT

Have you ever experienced a time in your life when you had to make a hard decision—where you had two roads before you and had to choose which would be the better path? Robert Frost, a wonderful and famous poet wrote a poem called, “The Road Not Taken,” in which he describes taking the road less traveled by and realizes it was the best decision. Such a great truth, as we often have times in our lives when we have to take a leap of faith.

Well we want to encourage you not to leap, but to take a peaceful walk along the Robert Frost Interpretive Trail just outside of Middlebury, VT. This is a 1.2-mile loop that takes approximately a half-hour to walk. It is a National Recreational Trail that commemorates the poetry of Robert Frost. Along the trail you will find several posts where his poems have been mounted. Take your time and stop and read each one. While it is a popular place to go, you will find it is still a spot where you can just be out in nature, appreciating the beauty of the Vermont landscape around you and just a tip—when you go in the mid to late summer, be on the lookout for wild blueberries and huckleberries that grow in an old field at the end of the trail. You may get a sneak peek at some local birds and small wildlife so bring your camera too!
