Shelburne Vineyards in Shelburne, VT is only a 30-minute drive from Swift House and is an award-winning, state-of-the-art winery. They are committed to sustainable agriculture and have consistently received recognition and awards for their wines. You will feel at home in their tasting room, which is open every day, all year long. They also have a great retail shop full of books, crafts, gifts, and local food products.
Charlotte Village Winery in Charlotte, VT is a quaint building in the Champlain Valley just south of Shelburne. This winery offers free tasting until January 1st, 2015 and features both fruit and grape wines, all made right here in Vermont. Some of the favorites here include the Strawberry Riesling Wine, Peach Chardonnay Wine, Blueberry Wine, Merlot Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon Wine, and Pinot Grigio Wine.
Lincoln Peak Vineyard is just 3 miles north of Middlebury and is a fantastic winery owned and operated by a wonderful family, the Granstrom’s. They have a cozy tasting room and for only $5 you can taste five wines, enjoy local cheeses and crackers, and have a souvenir wine glass to take home.
