The city of Vergennes, VT is actually Vermont’s oldest city and claims the title as being the America’s smallest city. On December 6, 2014, the city comes alive with holiday happenings going on all over town. It is the perfect event to get you into the holiday spirit, meet up with old friends, make new friends, and perhaps see some spots in Vergennes you didn’t even know about. The Holiday Stroll will feature a number of events between 7:30am and 5:30pm. You can start the day off with a breakfast with Santa at the Vergennes Union High School and then get a jumpstart on your Christmas shopping at the Winter Holiday Craft Fair. The Bixby Library will also be holding a great silent auction if you are up for bidding on some wonderful items. Stop and listen to readings from Mrs. Claus or try your hand at decorating cookies and making Christmas decorations. If you love to sing, you can join in other carolers walking around downtown or enjoy the wonderful holiday music provided by the Champlain Brass Quintet, the Addison County Gospel Choir, and the Victory Baptist Church Choir. It is a whole day’s worth of wonderful activities for young and old and it will finish off with a lighting of City Park and even more caroling!
