Until October 31, 2014, the museum will continue with its fall and Halloween celebrations. The first thing you will notice in the museum is the incredible display of murals that were hand painted by Grace Brigham, who extensively researched the history of maple sugaring. Fascinating black and white photos and two incredibly designed dioramas bring the syrup making process to life. A slide show also depicts the maple sugaring process and there is of course the opportunity to sample a variety of maple syrups as well as delicious Vermont specialty foods.
It is also a great place to do some early Christmas shopping for those friends and family members who would love some real Vermont syrup in their stockings. The gift shop carries all grades of syrups, maple products, artwork, crafts, books, and more. The rates for the tours are $5 for adults, $1 for children, and those under six are free. If you have a group of 12 or more, there are special rates as well as discounts for senior citizens and AAA. The museum is open daily from 9:30am to 5:30pm.
