Spooks, Scares, Ghosts and More Around Middlebury, VT

There are some of you out there who look forward to the Halloween season, simply for the spooky, scary, jump out of your skin type of events going on. Well, there certainly is no shortage of great fun to be had around Swift House Inn so we thought we’d highlight a few of the more popular choices. Check them out…if you dare!

The Haunted Forest – This fall tradition in Williston, VT combines theatre in the woods, the community and Halloween. Tickets are now on sale for this event, which will be taking place October 23-25th, 2014. Over 400 volunteers put on the Haunted Forest, which has been entertaining visitors for 34 years. You will be lead through a dark and spooky forest, lit by over 1000 jack-O’-lanterns. The night forest will come alive as you witness over 10 Halloween-themed performances. Incredible costumes, special effects and a “magical spirit” make this haunted forest one you will not forget. Evening shows are $13 in advance or $15 at the door and there are three children’s matinee shows on Saturday for $9/$10 at the door.

Spooktacular – This is a great Halloween event for all ages! On October 26th, 2014, the Middlebury Town Green will be a hopping place to be with music, dancing, and games. The legendary Spooktacular Witch will lead the children’s trick or treat parade down Main Street.

Haunted House in Pittsford, VT. This is the 34th anniversary for the Pittsford Haunted House and it will be taking place October 17-18th, and October 25-25th, 2014 from 6pm-9pm each day. Put on by the firefighters of Pittsford, there is family fun for everyone, including a wagon ride to the haunted house. You can follow the signs off US Route 7 and park next to the town office. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children up to twelve, however it is no recommended for those under 6 years old.

Pumpkin Carving and Pumpkin Glow in Bristol, VT – This event will take place on October 24th,

2014. Bring a pumpkin to carve and an led candle (all of the other supplies will be provided) and then joint a host of others at 7pm for the “lighting of the park.” There will be prizes for the scariest, most creative, and prettiest and then a time of Halloween stories with mulled cider and donuts.
