Addison County Fair and Field Days – New Haven, VT

If you are looking for a great summer fair to go to with a hometown feel, then the Addison County Fair
& Field Days
is one you don’t want to miss. This is a wonderful family-friendly fair that will take place August 5-9th, 2014 in the
beautiful New Haven, VT. Considered Vermont’s largest agricultural fair, this event provides the opportunity for local citizens to showcase the wonderful goods they have produced. For everyone else, loads of fun can be found at every corner—young or old, everyone in the family will find something fun to do!
Some of the highlights to look forward to include a children’s barnyard, tractor pulls, the Maple Sugar House, Twist O’ Wool Guild demonstrations, home and garden exhibits, craft demonstrations, cattle judging, live entertainment, carnival rides for all ages, yummy food, parade, 4-H and open class animal shows and more. You won’t find yourself in a zoo of people, shoulder to shoulder as you walk around and all of the facilities are clean and laid out to where you can easily find your way around. There are also plenty of
picnic tables to be found too if you want to pack a picnic lunch—although the smell of the delicious fair food may have you seeking dessert elsewhere!
Another tip that makes the day even more relaxing is that you can hop on a free shuttle from Middlebury, Bristol and Vergennes and have someone else handle all the driving and parking! This is a great option for those who may be staying with us at Swift House Inn in Middlebury, VT—we can tell you exactly where to grab the shuttle. If you will be in the area for this fair or for another getaway soon, we would love to have you stay at our charming, classic Vermont country bed and breakfast.
